Laying laminate flooring, everyone can do it
Laying laminate flooring has become so simple, nearly anyone can do it. If you don't want to spend extra money hiring some professional floor installers - which I wouldn't recommend unless you don't have the time to do it yourself - know that laying laminate floors is so simple it can actually be done by a child (under parental supervision, of course).
With the technical innovations laminate floor manufacturers have introduced over the years, laying your new floor is as simple as assembling a Lego construction (or even simpler, if you consider how complex those Lego toys can become). The hardest part of the laying process is putting the first piece on the ground. You need to consider the effect it will have on your room. Setting it lengthwise, aligned by the incoming light sources is usually the preferred method - but you can do it the other way around, if you want to achieve a different look. You can (and indeed, should) try out a few rows laid out on the floor, and see how it looks one way and the other.
Once you get that first piece down, you just keep attaching new pieces, one row after another, until you reach a wall. Only then you'll have some "harder work", cutting the pieces down to the right size. Don't forget to leave a small gap between it and the wall, so it can expand a bit without creating a wavy surface. And that's it... it's as simple as it can get laying laminate flooring.
